We want your online shopping experience, purchase, and continued engagement with our books and other products to be rewarding experiences. Our return policy, along with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, applies to transactions at www.smpbooks.com. If you are a retail bookseller, a gift shop, or the coordinator of a book fair or book festival, please contact [email protected] for applicable terms including return policy and trade discount.Â
We will refund your online purchase if you:
- Return new books and other unused products in their original condition.
- Include your packing slip or invoice in the original packaging.
- Return within 20 days of the shipment date listed on your packing slip.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item.
Note:
- Original shipment charges are not refundable. You are responsible for all costs associated with return shipment.
- Returns made to Shadelandhouse Modern Press, LLC will be refunded in the form of the original payment method.
- We can not issue refunds for items returned to us more than 20 days after shipment date.
- If you would prefer an exchange of item(s) to a refund, please contact us with your request ([email protected]) in advance of returning the item to confirm we are able to exchange the item(s).
- The return procedure above applies only to those items purchased from the Shadelandhouse Modern Press, LLC website, www.smpbooks.com. It does not apply to books or products bought at another bookseller, online, or retail store. Please refer to the third party vendor return policy where you purchased the book. We do encourage you to support independent book stores in your local area and throughout the United States.

- We cannot be responsible for packages lost during return. Therefore, we highly recommend that your return be sent as an insured package. The credit for your return will be applied to the credit card used to make the purchase. It may take up to two credit card billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.
- Due to the digital nature of the product, we cannot accept eBook returns.
- Prior to returning items that are purchased on sale, please confirm sale items are eligible for return.
