Our products ship within one to two business days of receiving your order and payment, excluding pre-orders which will ship within one to two business days of our receipt of the item(s). Occasionally, an item(s) may be backordered. In the case of a backorder, you will be notified by email with instructions for canceling your order if you so desire, along with a time frame for delivery of the backordered item. If a backordered item is cancelled, your payment will be refunded in the form of the original payment method.

Currently, we offer free domestic shipping in the United States via USPS Priority® mail, excluding special offer discounted purchase price items ordered online from smpbooks.com (which will ship free via US media mail) and bulk/quantity orders (see FAQ for bulk/quantity order).

USPS service objectives are 1 to 3 days for Priority® mail; however, USPS delivery times for this service is not guaranteed. If you have additional questions or requests, please write to us at [email protected]. Currently, we do not ship internationally; we ship only domestically to shipping addresses in the United States.

Shadelandhouse Modern Press, LLC, does not use a book distributor, but ordering from us is easy. Our titles are available at quantity discounts when purchased in bulk (10 copy minimum) for academic use, book clubs, author events, and for resale by booksellers or gift and speciality shops.  We also offer discounts to libraries (academic, public, and other libraries that offer their holdings to the public or to subscribers of the library). For all such orders, we ship on a pre-paid, non-returnable basis.

Yes, as a member of the IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Association) Shadelandhouse Modern Press adheres to the IBPA Code of Ethics.
We honor tax exempt status of such organizations and institutions. Please email a copy of your official tax exempt certificate to [email protected]. We will then follow up with you to assist you with placing your order, exempt from sales tax.
